Toni Pepe grew up in the Boston area. She attended Michigan State University. She received her undergrad in literature and visual arts. In April of 2008 she obtained her MFA in imaging Arts from the Rochester Institute of Technology. About 7 years ago she moved back to the Boston area.
In Toni Pepe's work she combines literature and writing with visual arts. Her rich imagination and dreaming shows through her imaging. Pepe's rich color and theatrical quality draws you into the image. And the dark nature engrosses you. The use of dust creates a nostalgic feeling that allows the viewer to relate to this feeling.
