I have always been interested in the places that surround me. I've found that they have shaped me as an individual in more ways then I can count. Even more so, I've discovered the impact of the people surrounding me and have decided to embark into a subject I haven't had the opportunity to explore; environmental portraiture. I usually let the places make a statement about myself or my memories, but here I am allowing the place/environment to say something about people close to my heart, my family. My mom has knit for as long as I can remember, she has knitted scarves and wash clothes and woven rugs from salvage. It is from her that I learned to create.
